PeerFocus ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and safeguarded when you use the PeerFocus mobile application.

Subscriptions are processed by Apple; we do not see your card or banking details.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

Account Information: Email address, username, and authentication identifiers.
User Content: Tasks, messages, posts, comments, and other content you create.
Photos: Profile images or photos you upload.
Audio Content: Voice messages you voluntarily record and send.
Location Information: Approximate or precise location used to display the city associated with communities.
Identifiers: User ID and device identifiers used for authentication and notifications.
Usage Data: App interactions and feature usage.
Diagnostics Data: Crash reports and performance metrics.
Purchase Information: Subscription status and entitlements (payment details are processed by Apple).

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage user accounts
To enable tasks, focus sessions, messaging, and communities
To send notifications and reminders
To personalise the app experience
To manage subscriptions and premium features
To improve performance and prevent abuse
To provide customer support

3. Location Information

Location access may be used to associate communities with a city. Location data is never used for advertising or tracking purposes.

4. Audio Content

Voice messages are processed only to deliver chat functionality. Audio data is not analysed for advertising or behavioural tracking.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

PeerFocus offers optional subscriptions ("PeerFocus Plus") processed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. We do not collect or store payment card or banking details.

Important: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.

6. Third-Party Services

We use trusted services such as Firebase (Google LLC) for authentication, cloud storage, and push notifications. These services process data only according to our instructions.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. Data may be disclosed only where required by law.

8. Data Retention

Your data is retained only as long as necessary to provide the service. You may delete your account at any time, which will permanently remove your personal data, subject to legal requirements.

Account & Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your PeerFocus account and associated personal data at any time.

How to request account deletion:

In the PeerFocus app, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account and follow the instructions.
Alternatively, email support@peer-focus.com using the email associated with your account and include the subject line “Account Deletion Request”.

Data that will be deleted:

Account information (email address, username, profile photo)
Tasks, focus sessions, and productivity data
Messages, community participation, and uploaded content
Audio messages and shared media

Data retention:

Data is permanently deleted within 30 days of a verified request.
Limited data may be retained temporarily where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

10. Children’s Privacy

PeerFocus is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. If you are located in the UK or EEA, you may have additional rights under GDPR.

12. User Privacy Choices

Permissions: Location, Microphone, and Notifications can be controlled in device settings.
Account Controls: Data access or deletion requests can be made via the app or email.
