PeerFocus ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and safeguarded when you use the PeerFocus mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: Email address, username, and authentication identifiers.
User Content: Tasks, messages, posts, comments, and other content you create within the app.
Photos: Profile pictures or images you upload.
Audio Content: Voice messages you voluntarily record and send within chats.
Location Information: Approximate or precise location used to display the city associated with communities.
Identifiers: User ID and device identifiers used for authentication, notifications, and security.
Usage Data: App interactions, feature usage, and in-app activity.
Diagnostics Data: Crash reports and performance metrics used to improve stability and reliability.
Purchase Information: Subscription status and entitlement information (payment details are processed by Apple and are not accessible to us).

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely for the following purposes:

To create and manage user accounts
To enable core app features such as tasks, focus sessions, messaging, and communities
To deliver push notifications and reminders
To personalise your experience within the app
To process subscriptions and premium features
To monitor performance, prevent abuse, and improve app stability
To provide customer support

3. Location Information

PeerFocus may request access to your device’s location when creating or joining communities. Location data is used only to show the city associated with a community and is never used for advertising or tracking.

4. Audio Content

If you choose to send voice messages, audio recordings are processed and stored only to deliver that functionality. Audio data is not analysed for advertising, analytics, or tracking purposes.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

PeerFocus offers optional subscriptions ("PeerFocus Plus") processed securely through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. We do not collect or store payment card details or banking information.

Important: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID / App Store account settings.

6. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services such as Firebase (Google LLC) to provide authentication, cloud storage, and push notification delivery. These services process data strictly according to our instructions.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be disclosed only if required by law.

8. Data Retention

Your data is retained only as long as necessary to provide the service. You may delete your account at any time, which will permanently remove your personal data, subject to legal requirements.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

10. Children’s Privacy

PeerFocus is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may exercise these rights through the app or by contacting us. If you are in the UK/EEA, you may also have additional rights under applicable data protection laws (e.g., GDPR), including the right to object or restrict certain processing.

12. User Privacy Choices

PeerFocus does not use your personal data for third-party advertising tracking. Where optional data processing exists (e.g., certain analytics/diagnostics features), you can control related permissions in your device settings and within the app where available.

Permissions: You can enable/disable Location, Microphone, and Notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
Account Controls: You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting us.
